Enugu South PDP Women Pledge Support For Hon Ani

The women wing of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu South Local Government Area, Monday, pledged their support to the council chairman, Hon. Caleb Ani.

During a solidarity visit to Hon Ani, the
immediate past Deputy Chairman of the Council, Hon. Dr. Sandra Akuabata Onyia, former Secretary of the council, Hon. Dr. Joy Nkurume, and the PDP local government women leaders from all the 13 political wards in the council, including women leaders of various support groups, non indigenes united in their support for the council chairman.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Nkem Nnamani, said the visit was to identify with the council chairman and equally congratulate him on his victory at the recently concluded LG polls, as well as his successful swearing in.

Hon Nnamani also said that the visit was also to re-affirm their support and commitment to his administration.

She praised Hon. Ani for what she called his remarkable developmental strides.

“We want to thank the Chairman and his team for evidently showing good leadership qualities and developmental strides as his impact is already being felt in less than two (2) months of his administration.

She said her group was ever ready to partner with the administration while pledging their unflinching support.

In the same vein, Dr. Sandra Onyia equally appreciated the Chairman, describing him as leader who has accommodating nature.

In a remark, the Deputy Chairman of the council, Hon. Anthony Egbo, and the Council Secretary, Hon. Barr. Kenneth Nnyammah, appreciated the women for their cooporation and support during and after the elections.

“Your commitments and dedication are well noted and this administration is ever willing to accommodate everyone so as to move the council forward in a positive direction.”he said.

Responding, the Council Chairman, Hon. Caleb Ani, expressed gratitude to the women for their steadfast support particularly during the electioneering.

He welcomed their decision to partner his administration, promising not to disappoint.

Ani urged them to embrace peace and harmony while accommodating all and sundry to bring the desired progress in the Council.

Earlier, a minute silence was observed in respect of one of their leaders who died few weeks ago, Hon. Mrs. Josephine Nwokedike.

Until her demise, Nwokedike was the immediate past Deputy Chairman of PDP, Enugu South and served meritoriously in her capacity as one of the woman leaders in the party.
