Enugu South Council Boss Inaugurates Assets Verification, Harmonization Committee

The Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Hon. Caleb Ani, has inaugurated an Assets Verification and Harmonization Committee to enhance the effective management and recovery of the council’s assets.

The committee was officially set up on Friday as part of the chairman’s commitment to foster development, progress and ensuring proper documentation of the council’s properties.

Hon. Ani outlined the committee’s terms of reference, emphasizing its responsibility to identify, recover, and harmonize all landed assets of the council.

The committee is also tasked with determining the location and status of these assets, inviting relevant individuals or entities for information, and seeking assistance from security agencies when necessary.

Additionally, they are to submit a comprehensive report within four weeks.

The chairman urged the members to approach their assignment with diligence and commitment, stressing the importance of accountability and efficiency in fulfilling their mandate.

In his acceptance speech, the committee chairman and Deputy Chairman of the council, Hon. Anthony Egbo, expressed gratitude to Hon. Ani for the opportunity to serve.

He pledged that the committee would carry out its duties with utmost diligence and commitment, assuring the council of a successful outcome. “We will approach this noble task with determination, and I am confident we will achieve great success,” Hon. Egbo stated.

The committee, comprising key figures within the council, includes Hon. Anthony Egbo (Chairman), Hon. Barr. Kenneth Nnyammah (Secretary), Mrs. Agu Josephine (HPM), Mr. Emma Ngwu (Town Engineer), Rt. Hon. John Okechukwu Egbo (Leader of the Legislative Arm), Chief Christian Igwe, and Mr. Silas Ngene.

Their diverse expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the accomplishment of the committee’s objectives.

This initiative reflects Hon. Ani’s administration’s proactive measures to ensure transparency and optimal use of council resources. As the committee embarks on its assignment, stakeholders and residents of Enugu South LGA anticipate improved accountability and sustainable development outcomes.
