No More ‘Work-From-Home’ – State Govt Tells Workers

Published

The Ekiti State Government has ended the work-from-home policy initiated in September last year to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the state workforce.

In a letter from the office of Establishment and Service Matters to all accounting officers, the cancellation was as a result of implementation of the new minimum wage for all workers.

“It also in view of the government investments in the welfare of workers and the promising contributions to the nation’s economy.”

The letter signed by the permanent secretary, Mrs Funke Ajibola, enjoined workers to return to work from Monday.

The state government had last year initiated the work from home policy under which public servants on different grades levels work from home for a period of one to three days.

The work-from-home policy lasted for four months before the stoppage by government.
