NANS/JCC SAYS NO TO PAYMENT OF COVID-19 FEES

  1. PRESS STATEMENT

NANS/JCC SAYS NO TO PAYMENT OF COVID-19 FEES

We bring greetings of solidarity to you from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) JCC Delta State, the umbrella body governing over 1.7 million Nigerian students schooling in all Tertiary Institutions of learning in Delta State. We are mooted towards the promotion of leadership excellence both In the Delta State and the country at large.

The leadership of the above named Association wishes to register her displeasure with respect to the Covid-19 Fee imposed on students schooling in some Higher Institutions in Delta State.

On this note, we call on all well-meaning Nigerian Students to desist from any form of payment, as this is mere extortion and would not work.

We also wish to inform the students community that consultation is ongoing with relevant stakeholders in regards to this issue. It’s disheartened for the management to come up with this anti students policy knowing what Covid-19 has done to the economy.

Instead of our management to declare free or half payment of tuition fee, also disburse Palliatives to students to assist them in this trying time, they choose to extort Nigerian Students.

Our demand are simple “WE REJECT ANY FORM OF INCREMENT OF SCHOOL FEES OR ANY COVID-19 LEVY”.
