Enugu LG Election: Udenu PDP Inaugurates Campaign Council

The Udenu Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Wednesday, constituted and inaugurated its campaign council for the Sept 21 local government election in Enugu state.

The event was held at the local government party secretariat, Obollo Afor, the administrative headquarters of Udenu LGA.

Mammoth crowd of party faithful, community leaders, stakeholders and well wishers witnessed the inauguration.

Inaugurating the council, the PDP Chairman in Udenu LGA, Meletus Agbo, expressed confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory in the upcoming elections. “As we prepare for the 2024 local government elections in Enugu State, we are leaving no stone unturned in Udenu. Today, we are proud to unveil our campaign organization that will lead our candidates to victory.”

Agbo announced that the party had set September 12th as the date for the official campaign flag-off, with Amalla and Obollo Afor wards being the first to kick-start the process. “These two wards have been identified as strategic, and we believe that a successful launch in these areas will set the tone for our overall campaign across Udenu LGA,” he added.

The Campaign Organization is led by a team of experienced political strategists and seasoned grassroots mobilizers. The Chairman of the campaign committee, Hillary Chinedu Onuh (Agunecheibe I of Ezimo), assured the party faithful of a well-coordinated and inclusive campaign that will resonate with the people of Udenu.

“We have put together a robust campaign plan that will engage our supporters at the ward, community, and polling unit levels. Our candidates are ready to showcase their track record of service and commitment to the people of Udenu LGA,” Onuh stated.

The event witnessed the unveiling of the campaign’s slogan, “…In touch with Tomorrow,” which underscores the party’s vision for the development and progress of the Local Government area in line with Gov. Peter Mbah’s disruptive administrative mantra. Party members expressed optimism that the PDP will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections, citing the party’s strong grassroots support and the track record of its candidates especially their Chairmanship candidate— Aka Eze Aka.

As the campaign season kicks off, the PDP in Udenu LGA is poised to mobilize its supporters and present a formidable challenge to its opponents. The September 12th flag-off event in Amalla and Obollo Afor wards is expected to set the tone for a spirited and engaging campaign across the local government area.

Highlight of the occasion was the welcoming of erstwhile State Lawmaker — Hon. Obinna Ijere who formally re-joined the party from Labour Party. Hon. Ijere was welcomed by the Campaign Council Director General, and assured him of the Party’s readiness to work with him as the umbrella is large enough to accommodate all.

Speaking at the event, the Candidate — Aka Eze Aka assured the people of Udenu that if elected, his administration will (in strict) collaboration with Gov. Peter Mbah’s disruptive leadership, gift them integral development. The highpoint of the well-attended program was the issuance of Letter of Appointment to the members of each committee of the Campaign Council.
