Two arrested following conflict at Nwafor Orizu COE, Nsugbe- Anambra State.

  • What could have quickly turned into a full scale riot was doused following a misunderstanding at the student hostel of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.

According to reports shared with APROKOREPUBLIC by the SUG Commissioner for Information; two young men said to be ex students of the institution drove into the school premises, and dropped off a lady around the school’s hostel 15. Unknown to them students of both hostel 11 and 15 were having a fun time splashing water on themselves as it was raining slightly.

Along the line, they (whether mistakenly or intentionally, it was not stated) poured water on the visitors car- although the visitors claimed they threw stones at them- and this started a string of violence, as they began chasing, and injuring some students with sharp objects, which triggered a retaliation and one of the visitors was allegedly hit with a big stick.

According to reports, the visitors were asked to leave the premises so as to curb further mayhem, but they refused and continued with the violence. They were however finally apprehended by anti cult members of the institution and taken to the security office with both their hands and feet handcuffed. After which the police was contacted and they were both handed over to them, but their vehicle remained in custody of the school’s security.
