Protest Erupts In Lafia As Gunmen Kidnap University Students

Students from the Federal University Lafia (FULafia) have taken to the streets in protest following the recurring kidnappings of their peers by unidentified gunmen.

In an attack at an off-campus lodge near FULafia in Gandu, an unconfirmed number of students were abducted by the assailants who stormed the area, firing shots during the incident, which occurred on Wednesday.

Expressing their dismay over the escalating insecurity, FULafia students rallied on Thursday, displaying placards with messages like ‘Students Lives Matter’ and ‘A cry for one is a cry for all,’ demanding the immediate release of their kidnapped fellow students, whose whereabouts remain unknown.

The protesters voiced their frustration with the persisting insecurity within the university environs, stating that they’ve reached a breaking point and can no longer endure the continuous security threats.
