President Tinubu Inaugurates Sata Healthcare Centre In Enugu South LGA

President Bola Tinubu, Saturday, January 4, 2025, inaugurated Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) facility at Sata Udeji in Enugu South Local Government Area.

The health center is among 60 completed and equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres of the 260 under construction in the wards across the state, embarked by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State.

Speaking during the virtual inauguration of the facility, Present Tinubu praised Gov. Peter Mbah, for his development model and philosophy.

In a remark, the Igwe-elect, Amechi Awkunanaw community, John Omedoaku Ngene, applauded Gov. Mbah for the people oriented projects in the state and commitment towards the uplift of the people of Enugu South LGA.

In a speech, Dr. Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku, Executive Secretary, Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency,(ENSPHCDA) represented by the Director of Disease Control And Immunization in the Agency, Dr. Chinelo Nnadi, said government had approved recruitment of healthcare workers to close the human resource gap in the sector due to brain drain and retirement.

She said: “The governor approved recruitment of over two thousand healthcare workers across all the cadres and we are doing it in phases.”

“Already four hundred and fifty have undergone computer based test and would soon be invited for physical interview, all these health centres that are being commissioned, would need healthcare workers to man them.

“Another thing that will improve quality of services is when you have efficient and quality healthcare workers manning the hospitals, whenever patients come they will have qualified healthcare workers that will attend to them,”she said.

She further noted that the hospital had been equipped to render 24 hour services, including staff quarters, good water source, and solar installation for electricity.

The ENSPHCDA boss emphasised the need for the community to protect the facility as the agency would regularly supervise it for proper management.

Mr. Ikechukwu Nwangwu, State Supervisor Sata PHC, who conducted the monarch and other critical stakeholders round the facility, urged the people to make good use of the hospital.

Mr. Nwangwu pointed out that the facility had been equipped to render services to the people.

The Head of Department (HOD), Health, Enugu South LGA, Mrs. Nneka Okoye, expressed gratitude to Gov. Mbah for the project, expressing the hope that it would enhance healthcare delivery in the area.

Ozo Emma Ugwu, Chairman Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Enugu South LGA, and Mr. Emmanuel Ike Orji, former Secretary, Enugu South, lauded the governor for the wonderful things he had been doing in the state, promising to secure the facility against vandalism.

Some of the key projects inaugurated by President Tinubu included 30 of the 260 Smart Green Schools and 19 kilometer Airport-New Haven – Bisalla and Okpara Square roads.
