Police Arrest Two suspects, Recover Firearms, Ammunition At Holy Ghost Axis

Police in Enugu State said they have arrested two male suspects, Monday Igwe aged 25, and Obinna Owoh aged 27, both of Ebonyi State.

A statement by the the Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, said the suspects were arrested Police Operatives serving in the Central Police Station (CPS) of the Enugu State Command, January 24, 2024, at about 9 p.m. with one locally fabricated cut-to-size gun loaded with a live cartridge recovered from them.

The statement said the operational success followed the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, that operational and investigative activities be strengthened in and around Holy Ghost and the Railway axis of Enugu metropolis.

The statement explained that the suspects shall be arraigned in court and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.

It further reiterated that the ongoing strengthened policing activities shall be sustained until the area is totally rid of all acts of crime and criminality.

It, therefore, enjoins the citizens to continue to support the Police as they frontally combat and flush unrepentant criminals and their activities out of Enugu State.
