Nri Kingdom undergoes 2 Days Ritual cleansing (See details)

Tuesday the 6th and Wednesday the 7th of January 2025, marked a remarkable date in Nri community as her leaders, in union with Christians and Traditionalists held a 2-day Cleansing / Igba Ndu in the community.

Nri is in Anaocha Local Government of Anambra State, the ancestral homeland with all Igbos, and is regarded as the custodian of Igbo Culture and Tradition.

Igba Ndu / Cleansing of the land is aimed at promoting peace, harmony, progress, development, mutual coexistence, and the well-being of people of the community.

This initiative seeks to revive the community timeless tradition, promoting social cohesion and community development.

The event started On Tuesday the 6th, with all Christian faithfuls performing their own oath taking while Wednesday saw the turn of ths Traditionalists.

The 6 villages that make up the community were all represented, and the oath taking covered both indigenes of the town not present and non-indigenes living in the community.

Below are some of the resolutions adopted at the ceremony:

1. Prayer for Good health: Prayer for the health and well-being of all Nri sons and daughters worldwide
2. Prayer for Progress : Prayer for the progress and success of all Nri sons and daughters in their daily endeavors.
3. Prayer for Redemption: Prayer for all evil doers in Nri, both indigenes and non-indigenes, to have a change of hearth instantly. Failure to do so will result in drawing the wrath of God instantly.
4. Consequences of Evil Deeds:
– Prayer for instant divine punishment/God’s wrath on anyone who plans evil against fellow human beings or an Nri indigene, that they may face the wrath of God.
– Ndi nile na Ako Nsi di iche iche: May they receive the wrath of God and instant repercussions for their wicked actions.
– Ndi na ako Ntutu: May their receive the wrath of God and instant repercussions for their wicked actions.
– Ndi na ako ule okpa: May they receive the wrath of God and instant repercussions for their wicked actions.
– Onye obuna no na ebe ana akpa alo ka emegide nwanneya: May they receive instant repercussions for their wicked actions.
– Onye obuna no ebe ana agba izuzu ka emegide nwanneya, mana onye afu ekwugi: May they receive instant repercussions for their wicked actions.
– Punishment for Fake Story About The History of Nri Kingdom: Onye obuna na ako akuko etu Nri si dilu, na oburo eziokwu: May they receive the wrath of God for their wicked actions and may nemesis catch up with them for twisting, distorting the truth and facts about Nri history to cause confusions and troubles in our land. We, the Nri people, don’t need fake storytellers about the history of Nri in our midst again forever and ever, Amen.
– Onye obuna no na ebe ana akpa alo Maka itoro nwanneya (kidnapping) ma obu onye Nri obuna: ma ya na Ndi nile so welu mee ya bu ntoli ma obu gbaa onye Nri obuna egbe, ma obu welu egbe jee ori ma obu gbaa gbuo mmadu. May the gods of our land and our ancestors visit such a person (whether indigene or non-indigene) with the most severe untold punishment ever heard of in the history of our land.
– Killing of Fellow Nri Indigene : Onye obuna choro igbu nwanneya ma obu onye Nri obuna: May justice be served, and may death be the consequence for those who seek to kill any Nri person or any human being created by God.
– Land Grabbers : Onye Nri Obuna na anara nwanneya ana ya ni ike: May the god of our land show their displeasure by chasing that person out of Nri kingdom and reject anything such a person or group of persons on the land. The consequence also applies to those who will bear false witness in any land dispute.
