Nri Born Solomon Ibekwe Among 98 Newly Inducted Doctors At UNN

Dr. Solomon Ibekwe of Obeagu village, Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State is among the 98 newly inducted qualified doctors at the University of Nigeria (UNN) by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Doctor Ibekwe, a 2022 Class Batch B Graduands of Faculty of Dentistry, came out in flying colours.

The Registrar, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi, who administered the Hippocratic Oath on the newly inductees, at Uncoma hall, College of Medicine, UNN, Ituku-ozalla campus, charged them to abide by the code of ethics of the profession to avoid infraction.


He warned that the council would not hesitate to sanction any practitioner found wanting in the discharge of the professional duty.

Dr. Sanusi charged the newly inducted medical graduates to desist from joining incessant strikes by doctors in the country, urging them to be of good behaviour and uphold the highest ethical standards while carrying out their duties.

Earlier, Prof. Charles Igwe, the Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, congratulated the graduands, adding, “having rocked the waters of the UNN, endured all the troubles, ensure that you reciprocate the investment, do not forget the university.

Igwe charged the doctors to be good ambassadors of the institution.

The guest lecture, Dr. Progress Iwuagwu, expoused on the theme of the induction ceremony.

On the whole, 24 doctors graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry while 74, from
Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
