The police in Delta state have arrested a couple, Mr and Mrs Joshua Bogbon Godwell, for allegedly organizing a gun-running syndicate in the state.

A statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, says  March 9, operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) while acting on credible intelligence, carried out a sting operation at the residence of the couple located at  Okpe LG of Delta State.

Edafe said upon their arrest, a fabricated Barretta pistol with a single live ammunition planned to be delivered to a client in Sapele was recovered.

‘’The wife has admitted to being the dispatcher and she confessed to having delivered several arms as directed by her husband to various clients within Warri and Sapele. Further investigation also led to the arrest of one Junior Moses Ogedegbe ‘m’ 30yrs of Useifurun community in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State who is also a member of their gang, he said

Edafe mentioned that efforts to recover other arms and arrest more suspects are underway.
