The Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE), South East Zone, has urged civil servants to redouble their efforts towards offering best services to the nation.
The heads of establishments made the call in Enugu on Tuesday in a communique issued at the inaugural meeting of Chairmen AHFE in South-East Zone.
Reading the communique, Mr Emeka Nwokoro, the Chairman, AHFE, Enugu State Chapter, described civil servants as the propeller of all government activities.
Nwokoro, who is the Director, Federal Ministry of Justice, reminded them that they had big role to play in helping the Federal Government to succeed in all its programmes.
The chairman explained that the meeting was the first time AHFE in the five South East states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo came together as one body to chart a way forward for the association in the zone.
He listed some of the resolutions reached at the end of the inaugural meeting to include increasing engagement with the various state governments to sustain relationship between the states and the Federal Government.
According to him, the resolution also include increasing awareness for the civil servants to increase their output and stepping up efforts towards the establishment of AHFE national body as well as regular engagement at the zonal level.
He said that the association’s next meeting of the Zonal Meeting would be hosted by Anambra State Chapter of AHFE.
