Group Honours NLC Chairman With Legends’ Media Personality Award

A group, Living Legends Communications Limited, has honoured Enugu State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Fabian Nwigbo, with Legends’ Media Personality of the Year Award.

They also commended him for his dedication to the welfare and uplift of workers.

The Living Legends Communications Limited, is the Publishers of Living Legends Magazine, based in Abuja.

The occasion which held at the state secretariat of NLC in Enugu, Monday, was witnessed by labour leaders in the state including the state chairman of the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) who is also the chairman of the occasion, Dr Ezekiel Onwe.

Delivering the award, the Editor of the magazine, Mr Augustus Agboeze, said the award was in recognition to Nwigbo’s outstanding contributions to the emancipation of workers and society at large.

Agboeze who spoke on behalf the company added that, “Your instrumental role in negotiating the new minimum wage has significantly improved the lives of countless Nigerians, cementing your leadership as a beacon of hope for the working class.

“Your tireless efforts and dedication to social justice and equality are truly inspiring, making this award a fitting tribute to your remarkable achievements.

“We are impressed by your unwavering commitment to the betterment of the society, and we believe that your work deserves recognition and celebration.”

The editor explained that the search for Nwigbo started in May, after the occupation of the TrustFund Pensions Limited office by NLC Enugu Council, over the controversial refusal of the management to allow their staff members join trade unions, general poor working conditions amongst other legitimate demands.”

He commended his unwavering commitment to the betterment of the society, adding that his work had impacted greatly on the lives of many, which he observed deserved recognition and celebration.

Agboeze also extolled his leadership and dedication, stressing that his consistent efforts to emancipate the common masses and dedication to social justice made him fitting recipient of the award.

He congratulated him for the award, saying they looked forward to celebrating his exceptional leadership and commitment to the betterment of Nigeria and society at large.

Responding, Nwigbo thanked the group for the recognition and dedicated it to hardworking Nigerian workers,

“It is a great inspiration and would spur me to do more. It is a great push, a great encouragement and it has encouraged me to do more

“We are going to ensure that the protection we promised workers come to reality.

He commended his colleagues for their continued support towards his leadership.

Nwigbo equally commended the Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah for his consistency in addressing the needs of workers in the State.
