Governor Sanwo-Olu Appoints Wasiu Ayinde Daughter, Dami Marshall As “Senior Special Assistant”

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has designated Basirat Damilola Marshall, the daughter of Fuji music maestro King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM1, as his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism.

This announcement surfaced in a viral video capturing KWAM1 expressing gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu during a performance at Oba Sikirullah Apena’s coronation and birthday celebration.

In the video, KWAM1 mentioned that his daughter, Damilola, urged him to publicly acknowledge the governor for her significant appointment.

Following this news, social media platforms were inundated with congratulatory messages, particularly on Damilola’s Instagram page, where well-wishers celebrated her career milestone.

Before assuming her new role, Damilola served as a principal partner at the law firm Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co.

Her legal background and active engagement within the community were cited as significant factors contributing to her appointment.

At the time of this report, attempts to obtain official confirmation from Gboyega Akosile, the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, were ongoing. Messages sent to his WhatsApp line were yet to receive a response.
