No fewer than 500 youths in Enugu South Local Government Area have commenced a five-month skills acquisition training.

The programme was organised by the Council Area in collaboration with Enugu Skill Acquisition Empowerment Organisation (ENSAEORG), to train beneficiaries in different levels of skills free of charge.

The initiative tagged the “1st Enugu South LGA Mass Free Skill-Acquisition Empowerment” engaged 500 grassroots youths drawn from the 13 political wards of the council.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at the Council’s Secretariat, the Chairman, Enugu South Council Area, Hon. Caleb Ani, said the gesture was part of his administration’s vision to empower people through areas that would make them self-employed.

Represented by the Council Secretary, Barrister Kenneth Nnyammah, Ani added that the package was to check the scourge of unemployment in the area.
