Enugu South Chairman-elect, Ani Receives Certificate of Return

The Enugu South Chairman-elect, Hon.Caleb Ani, Wednesday, in Enugu said that his certificate of return is not only a confirmation of his victory at the September 21 local government elections, but also a call to serve.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in last Saturday’s council election reiterated his promise to run an inclusive government.

Ani spoke after he was presented with the Certificate of Return by Chairman of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, (ENSIEC) Professor Christian Ngwu.

Hon. Ani said, “I want to reiterate my commitment towards operating open door policy as to enable me serve the people”.

He further expressed happiness for the success of the election.

He said, “I’m very happy to receive Certificate of Return from ENSIEC today. It is an important day to me and to the entire people of Enugu South Local Government Area.

“Our party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), workd very hard to win the election, despite the hard efforts of other opposition parties in the State”.

Hon. Ani said he would prioritise infrastructural development, security, human capital empowerment amongst others when he assumes office as the council chairmen.

According to him, he said, “I will look where the previous governments in Enugu South Local Government Area didn’t touch and continue where necessary. I will prioritise promotion of lives stock business, I will embark on road construction, rebranding of our school system in the area, to give our people good quality life, improve on health care for the betterment of the people.

Hon. Ani thanked the good people of Enugu South for voting him and the 13 ward Councilors. He equally thanked the Enugu state independent electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for conducting an election that was adjudged free, fair and credible, the achievement would not have been possible without the cooperation of the security agents as Enugu South recorded violence free election throughout the 13 Electoral Wards.
