Thieves have plunged a section of Airport road, Effurun, in Uvwie LGA of Delta State into darkness after they allegedly stole armoured cables from the transfer situated near Izakpa junction.

The area has been in darkness for the past three weeks since the sudden disappearance of the cables.

At the time of this report, no arrest has been made in connection with the stolen armoured cables.

Some residents, especially businessmen, who spoke with DAILY POST, swore that, “It shall not be well with anyone who put them in darkness.”

They said the absence of light has affected their businesses as they are now forced to buy petrol at exorbitant costs.

They appealed to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, to come to their aid.
