The Executive Chairman of Enugu South Council Area, Hon. Caleb Ani, has signed the N4.3 billion 2025 budget into Law.
The chairman assented to the bill at the Council’s headquarters, Uwani, in the presence of the Leader, Enugu South Legislative Council, Hon. John Okechukwu Egbo; and Clerk of the house, Mrs. Florence Agbo.
While speaking after signing the appropriation bill into Law, Ani thanked the legislators for the expeditious passage, appreciating the synergy between the executive and the legislature.

Ani, who noted that the 2025 budget is a projection, called on the staff to join hands together with him in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Recall that Ani had on Thursday, January 9, 2025, presented over N4.3 billion budget for 2025 fiscal year to the Councillors at Legislative Chamber.

Presenting the budget entitled “The Budget of Disruptive Innovation,” Ani said the budget was the estimated amount anticipated to be generated within 2025 fiscal year.
The total sum, he said, was expected to be released through Federal Government allocations and derivation through Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) within the council area.
According to him, N4.2 billion is expected to come through Federal Allocation while N150 million comes from IGR.
“We will spending N2.5 billion on recurrent expenditure which is 58 per cent of the total sum of the budget. It comprises of all salaries, overhead, impress tax, daily operational and running cost of the council.
“The Capital Expenditure is budgeted at over N1.8 billion which represent 42 per cent of the total budget. The capital expenditure include all capital projects such as road constructions, culvert buildings, drainages, grading of roads, earth workings among others,” he said.
Ani added that during the time of the budget collation, the council took cognisance of various departments that made up the Local Government system and allocated money to them for their programmes.
