Awka — The All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, have unveiled a comprehensive agricultural development agenda aimed at transforming Anambra State’s economy through increased food production, job creation, and rural empowerment.

The duo said the initiative, described as an Agricultural Revolution, would reposition Anambra as a leading hub for agribusiness and industrial growth in the South-East region.

According to their campaign statement, the agenda seeks to implement policies that stimulate economic growth, restore investor confidence, and make agriculture the backbone of the state’s economy. It also proposes targeted investments in infrastructure to support production, processing, and storage across the agricultural value chain.

Ukachukwu and Ekwunife emphasized the importance of empowering farmers through improved access to finance, modern technology, and markets. They said the approach would not only increase productivity but also raise incomes for rural dwellers and smallholder farmers.

The plan further prioritizes food security, aiming to expand food production, reduce reliance on imported goods, and ensure that residents have access to safe and nutritious food.

Other key pillars of the agenda include industrialization, agricultural value chain development, and private sector investment, all designed to create employment opportunities and strengthen the local economy.

“Our vision is to unlock Anambra’s full agricultural potential, attract private investment, and build a prosperous future for our people,” the candidates said in a joint statement.

They urged Anambra citizens to support the APC’s development-driven agenda, which they believe will usher in a new era of progress and self-reliance for the state.
