The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Enugu.

Ndukwe said that the CP used the visit to assess security situation in the area and engaged residents as well as the traders at the Eke Mgbowo and Afor Mmaku markets to better understand local security concerns.

At the NYSC Orientation Camp, the Commissioner was received by the State Coordinator, Mrs. Oluwakemi Awolola, who conducted him on a brief tour of the facility, including the historic Ojukwu Bunker.

Addressing corps members during their cultural carnival, CP Giwa assured them of their safety, urging them to remain security-conscious and to promptly report suspicious individuals and activities.

The CP also made a brief stopover at the Awgu Divisional Police Headquarters, where he charged the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Chinedu Anagor, and personnel to be proactive and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and diligence.

While reaffirming his commitment to securing every part of Enugu State, CP Giwa emphasised that proactive and preventive policing remained central to his policing strategy.

He also urged citizens to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of the police and other security agencies.

The Commissioner was accompanied on the patrol by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Gregory Itobore; Agbani Area Commander, ACP Lateef Alabi; Commanding Officers of No. 3 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Enugu, and Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) Base 10, Enugu, ACP Azeez Moroof Idowu and CSP Komo Folmi, respectively.
