Rooney Predicts What Arteta Will Do Against Man Utd After 7-1 Win At PSV

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has said he expects Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to go “full throttle” at Manchester United.

Rooney was speaking on TNT Sports, after the Gunners hammered PSV 7-1 in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night.

Jurrien Timber opened the scoring for Arsenal on his return to the Netherlands, before Ethan Nwaneri made it 2-0.

Mikel Merino added a third, before the hosts pulled one back from the penalty spot.

However, in the third half, Arteta’s men turned on the style with Martin Odegaard scoring twice to win comprehensively.

Up next for Arsenal is a trip to Manchester United in the Premier League.

Rooney said: “Mikel Arteta now has the opportunity to go for it on Sunday because he can now rest players in midweek.

“He won’t say it but this tie is over. So Arsenal can go full throttle on Sunday.”
