In just a few days, Anambra State will once again stand at the crossroads of destiny. November 8 will not just be another date on the electoral calendar, it will be a defining moment in our state’s history, a chance to choose between stagnation and progress, between rhetoric and results, between politics as usual and purposeful leadership. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, represent that beacon of hope. The competent, visionary team that can take Anambra to the heights we have long aspired to reach.
Anambra has always been known as the Light of the Nation, a state blessed with intelligent minds, resourceful entrepreneurs, and hardworking citizens. Yet, despite our vast human potential, we remain shackled by infrastructural decay, insecurity, and lack of coherent economic direction. The present administration has failed to match words with action. The roads are collapsing while newly-constructed ones are being patched, youth unemployment is rising, insecurity has crippled local businesses, and government presence in most communities is barely felt. The people are tired, tired of promises, tired of excuses, tired of leadership that disconnects from the everyday struggles of ordinary Ndi Anambra.
This is why the message of Nicholas Ukachukwu and Uche Ekwunife has struck a deep chord across the state. They are not just campaigning to win; they are campaigning to rebuild, to restore, and to reposition Anambra on the path of sustainable growth. Their plan for Anambra is rooted in competence, compassion, and creativity, three ingredients that have been missing in recent governance.
Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, fondly called Ikukuoma, is a man whose life tells the story of determination and achievement. A successful businessman and philanthropist, who had created jobs, empowered communities, and touched lives long before politics came calling. His vision for Anambra is clear and practical, a state where infrastructure works, businesses thrive, and every hardworking youth has the opportunity to succeed. He understands what it means to build from the ground up, and he has vowed to bring that same discipline and innovation into government.
His focus on youth empowerment stands out as a pillar of his campaign. Ikukuoma believes that the future of Anambra lies in its young people. His plan includes setting up vocational and entrepreneurship centers in every local government, creating technology hubs to train the next generation of innovators, and providing access to credit facilities for young entrepreneurs. He has also promised to attract local and foreign investors to boost industrialisation, especially in Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka, areas with huge untapped potential.
Beside him is Senator Uche Ekwunife, a name that commands respect in Nigerian politics. She is a woman of proven capacity, courage, and credibility. As a two-term senator, Ekwunife has delivered meaningful projects, attracted investments, and championed causes that uplift women and youth. Together, this dynamic duo represents the perfect balance of experience, empathy, and energy that Anambra urgently needs.
Their blueprint for governance goes beyond promises; it is a roadmap to prosperity. They have outlined clear strategies for improving education by modernising schools, training teachers, and ensuring digital literacy for every child. On healthcare, they have pledged to revitalise primary healthcare centers and ensure that every Anambra citizen has access to quality and affordable medical care. On security, their plan includes deploying smart surveillance systems, strengthening community policing, and tackling the root causes of youth restiveness through jobs and education.
The contrast with the current administration could not be clearer. For years, Ndi Anambra have listened to grand announcements and media spectacles that never translated into tangible change. Roads that were meant to connect communities are riddled with potholes. Markets and businesses suffer from poor infrastructure and erratic power supply. Even public servants complain of neglect and lack of motivation. The once vibrant energy of Anambra’s economy is fading under the weight of poor planning and inconsistent leadership.
We need something different. We need a government that not only listens but also acts, one that sees governance as service, not self-enrichment. The ticket of Nicholas Ukachukwu and Uche Ekwunife embodies that difference. They offer hope grounded in experience, and ambition guided by compassion.
As November 8 approaches, Ndi Anambra must remember that democracy only works when the people participate. Voter apathy is the enemy of progress. Staying home on election day is not a protest but surrendering your power to others. The future of Anambra cannot be decided by a few; it must be shaped by the collective will of the people.
This election is not about party lines or political godfathers; it is about competence, capacity, and character. Ukachukwu and Ekwunife have all three. They have the intellect to envision a greater Anambra, the experience to manage resources prudently, and the compassion to put people first. What they need now is your support through your vote, voice, and faith.
So, come November 8, let us come out en masse, under the sun or in the rain, and cast our votes for the team that truly represents our future. Let us choose a government that will ignite the Light of the Nation once more. One that will make Anambra a model of good governance, enterprise, and opportunity.
The choice is ours. Let us choose wisely. Let us choose progress. Let us choose Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife.
