Nigerian Breweries Announces Beer Price Hike

Amid the hardship caused by fuel subsidy removal, the Nigerian Breweries announced that it would hike the price of alcoholic drinks, popularly known as beer.

APROKOREPUBLIC gathered that this was contained in a letter signed on Tuesday by Ayo Lawal, the Sales Director of NB.

He explained that the increment is coming on the heels of the rise in production costs.

Consequently, he stated that the new price would commence next week, August 10, 2023.

“This is to inform you (the Public) that we will review the prices of some of our SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) effective Thursday, August 10, 2023.”

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, June’s inflation figure was 22.79 per cent, indicating the soaring prices of food.

Fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government has contributed to the hike in transportation, goods and services nationwide.
