“With joy in my heart and thanksgiving to Almighty God, I welcome back home our very dear Eleanor after a most successful tenure as President of our prestigious MWIA,” she said. “The Almighty and All-knowing God selected her to nurture a tiny seed planted in Nigeria 50 years ago the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria into a mighty tree that now commands global respect.”
Professor Oduntan commended Dr. Nwadinobi’s leadership through challenging global health periods, including the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that her “footprints as President will forever remain dominant in the archives of MWIA.”
She added that Dr. Nwadinobi’s commitment, resilience, and selfless service to the advancement of health globally had earned her both national and international admiration.
> “In her noble role as the first Nigerian President of MWIA, Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi brought honour and glory to our beloved country. She put Nigeria on the world map of international health,” Oduntan stated.
She further called for the conferment of a national honour on Dr. Nwadinobi, describing it as a well-deserved recognition for her outstanding contributions to global health and medical leadership.
The statement concluded with prayers for continued growth and unity in MWAN, urging members to emulate Dr. Nwadinobi’s example of service and excellence.
“We are so proud of our dear Eleanor, and we celebrate her. May our Association continue to grow in love and unity and attain its founding goals and objectives,” Oduntan said.
