LG Election: ENSIEC Extends Deadline For Party Primaries

The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) has extended the deadline for the conduct of primaries by political parties.

It said, “political party primary elections has been extended from August 12, 2024, to August 19, 2024.

The commission said it deemed it necessary to extend the deadline in order to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive electoral process, noting that the extension will also provide political parties with additional time to conduct their primaries in a manner that guarantees the full participation of all party members.

The commission said it understood the importance of timely electoral activities and assured the public that the extension was made in the best interest of free, fair, and credible elections in Enugu State.

It therefore urged all political parties and stakeholders to utilize the extention period and effectively adhere to the new deadline.
