Lagos State Govt Shuts Mile 12, Ketu, 11 Other Markets Over Illegal Waste Disposal

The Lagos state government has sealed off 13 markets in the state including Ketu and Mile 12 markets for persistent violations including illegal waste disposal on roads, medians, and highways.

 

The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, says the action of the traders is contrary to the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017.

Wahab mentioned that the enforcement actions are necessary to safeguard public health and restore order to our public spaces.
