IWD: We’re Committed To Policies, Initiatives That Empower Women- Enugu South LG Boss

The Chairman, Enugu South Council Area, Hon. Caleb Ani, says his government remains committed to policies and initiatives that empower women, support female entrepreneurs and promote inclusive leadership.

Ani disclosed this in his message to women on 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration in Enugu.

IWD is marked every March 8 globally to celebrate women’s achievements and advocate for gender equality, and the 2025 Edition has the theme: “Accelerate Action.”

Ani extolled women for their strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions to families, society and in nation building.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the remarkable women in our community and beyond.

“This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, is a powerful call to intensify efforts towards gender equality. It reminds us that while progress has been made, we must do more to break barriers, create opportunities, and ensure women’s inclusion in all sectors.

“I encourage all stakeholders, government agencies, private organisations and community leaders to join hands in accelerating action for women’s rights and development.

“Let us not only celebrate women today but also work tirelessly to create a future where every woman and girl can thrive without limitations.

“Once again, congratulations to all the amazing women of Enugu South. Your impact is immeasurable, and your future is bright,” Ani said.
