The Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Hon. Caleb Ani, has inaugurated a sanitation and obstruction taskforce committee to ensure environmental cleanliness and orderliness in the area.
The inauguration was performed by the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Tony Egbo, who represented the Chairman.

Speaking during the inauguration of the task force, Hon. Ani charged the committee to maintain a well-organized environment by enforcing regulations against street trading, illegal parking, hawking, and refuse dumping.
He outlined their terms of reference, emphasizing that all trading activities must be restricted to designated markets, and no illegal structures should obstruct roads, drains, or waterways. Particularly along Agbani road by Mayor and Garriki market.
He further directed the task force to apprehend and hand over violators to law enforcement agencies to ensure strict compliance.
Acknowledging the challenges of the task, he urged the committee members to remain committed and dedicated, stressing that their role is crucial to achieving a cleaner and healthier environment.
In his response, the Chairman and Head of Operations of the committee, Mr. Okechukwu Ogbu, expressed gratitude to the council leadership for the opportunity to serve. He assured that the committee would carry out its duties diligently and effectively to meet the set objectives.
The 23-member task force includes Chigbogu Chukwu Peter (SPA on Transport), Casidy Okoh, Ogbonna Okafor, Ifeanyi Ugwueke, Samuel Sunday Nnaji, Jasper Egbo, Ifeanyi Paul Ani, Egbo Chidiebere, Chijioke Agbo, Emma Nnaji, Ogbodo Chizoba, Chisom Nnamani, Ngwu Nnaemeka, Afam Onyia, Tochukwu Ezennadu, Onu Joseph (Biggy), Uchenna Nnaji, Godwin Agbo, Nsude Victor Chukwuebuka, Egbo Chizota, Nwabueze Okolie, and Chime Onyedika.
