Enugu South LG Boss Meets Workers, Urges Commitment To Excellence

The newly sworn-in Executive Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Hon. Caleb Onyema Ani, his Deputy, Hon. Anthony Egbo, on Wednesday, met with workers at the council’s secretariat, Uwani Enugu.

Ani and Egbo were received at the meeting with wide jubilation, enthusiasm and renewed hope even as they called on the staff to remain steadfast, committed and diligent in their duties.

It would be recalled that Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Monday, swore in Hon. Caleb Ani and 16 other newly elected council chairmen following a successful local government polls.

Ani while addressing the jubilant workers expressed his gratitude to them for the roles they played during the election that brought them into office.

The council boss commended the leadership of the Director of Personnel Management, Mrs. Oby Chiene, whom he said competently handled affairs of the council before the election and inauguration.

Ani acknowledged her leadership as crucial in ensuring stability in the council, commending her efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the administration during the transition.

He further highlighted the importance of collaboration and unity among the workforce, emphasizing that their support is crucial for the success of his administration and the overall development of Enugu South Local Government Area.

He also reiterated the strong partnership between the Council and the state government, describing Governor Peter Mbah as a leader who genuinely cares for the welfare of workers across the state.

“I urge you all to cooperate with my administration as we work together to deliver the vision of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, for the uplift of the people of Enugu South.

Hon. Ani charged the staff to be punctual, devoted, creative and promote unity in their various departments.

Responding on behalf of the workers, Mrs. Oby Chiene, Director of Personnel Management, and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Michael Nwankwo, expressed their gratitude to the chairman for his pledge to the welfare of workers.

They pledged their commitment to ensuring that the workforce remained dedicated and ensure that the council continues to excel.

The workers promised to support the council chairman to succeed in office, emphasizing their readiness to be punctual, articulate, and dedicated to duty.

“The workers will be punctual, committed, and submissive, and we will ensure that Enugu South always stands out at the state level,” she affirmed.

The well attended meeting concluded with a sense of renewed energy and determination among the workers, as Hon. Caleb took his first steps towards leading Enugu South Local Government Area into a new era of development.
