The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the final monthly clean-up exercise for the year will hold on Saturday, 29 November, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

A statement signed by Joshua Ozioko, ESWAMA’s Head of Public Relations, said movement across the state will be strictly restricted during the exercise. Only persons on essential duties, and who can present valid identification or an ESWAMA pass, will be permitted to move. It warned that violators will be arrested and prosecuted.

ESWAMA said all early morning sporting events, loading and offloading of passengers in motor parks, and other commercial activities are to be suspended for the duration of the sanitation.

The agency called on residents to participate actively in the clean-up, describing it as part of ongoing efforts to maintain a clean environment ahead of the festive season.

It also reminded residents to pay their sanitation rates through authorised e-ticketing agents to avoid penalties.

Members of the public seeking further information are advised to contact the agency via 08135534440.
