Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA), says this month’s clean-up exercise will hold on Saturday,(tomorrow) September 27, 2025.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, ESWAMA, Mr. Joshua Ozioko in Enugu on Friday.
The statement said that the exercise would hold from 6am to 10am and that movement of people and vehicles will be prohibited during the exercise, except for those on essential duties who must present valid identification or an ESWAMA official pass.
The statement warned that offenders, would be arrested and prosecuted at the environmental mobile court.
It further directed that all early morning sporting activities, loading and un-loading of passengers at motor parks, as well as other commercial operations across the state should be suspended within the period of the exercise.
It also reiterated that enforcement against illegal disposal of refuse remains in force.
“Residents are reminded that dumping of refuse outside the approved hours of 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily, scavenging around waste dumps, and throwing dirt from moving vehicles or tricycles are punishable offences.”
The Authority advised residents to promptly pay their ESWAMA sanitation rates to designated e-ticketing agents to avoid penalties.
The clean-up exercise is part of ongoing efforts to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment across Enugu State.
