The Wife of Enugu State Governor, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah, has pledged to champion initiatives empowering women in Enugu.
Mbah stated this during her familiarisation Visit to Enugu East Senatorial District, at Enugu East Council Area Headquarters, Amagunze on Sunday.
The governor’s wife said she was committed to championing initiatives that empowers women, improve healthcare, enhance education and support youth development.
According to her, women in Enugu State have been pillars of strength in their families and communities, contributing significantly to welfare and economic development.
“So, working with stakeholders and women leaders is a crucial platform to listen, learn and collaborate.
“Our voices are vital in shaping policies and programmes that address the needs of families, children and the vulnerable.
“United we can yield and earn success.
Success is already achieved and creates new opportunities for growth and empowerment,” Mbah said
She described the familiarisation visit to Enugu East Senatorial Zone as a proof of their commitment to engaging with the grassroots, understanding their aspirations and working collaboratively to develop Enugu.
“The zone is known for their industrious, resilient people and have historically contributed immensely to the socio-economic and political fabric of Enugu State.
“They are also renowned for its commitment to peace, unity and development,” she added.
Welcoming Mbah, the Chairman, Enugu East Council Area, Mr Sydney Edeh, reiterated commitment to empower women from the area and continued support for Gov. Peter Mbah’s administration.
