Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has received 195 newly recruited and trained police constables from the Police College, Oji River.
Addressing the officers at the State Headquarters, Enugu, the Commissioner admonished them to see their recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as an opportunity to professionally serve the nation and contribute meaningfully to humanity.

Giwa while addressing the new Police constables
Giwa, while congratulating and wishing them a successful policing career, charged the Constables to shun extortion and all forms of corruption, and to eschew every temptation to misuse the police uniform to oppress citizens or enrich themselves unlawfully.
He warned that he would not hesitate to deal decisively with any of them who acts otherwise.
The Commissioner further announced that the new police constables, alongside those recruited before them, will undergo short but intensive tactical and operational training immediately after their post-college leave.
The training, he noted, is aimed at further strengthening and enhancing their combat and operational crime-fighting capabilities.
Recall that the 195 police constables from Enugu State, comprising 124 males and 71 females, are part of a total of 379 Recruit Constables drawn from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.
They were trained in various aspects of policing for six months at the Police College, Oji River, and passed out on 7th October 2025 under the supervision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
