The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Kanayo Uzuegbu, has launched an intensive training programme for the Command’s personnel.
This is in with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to enhance the operational capacity of officers, equipping them to effectively utilize the Command-and-Control Centre, modern security equipment, and vehicles provided by the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in the fight against crime in the State.
Daniel Ndukwe, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, made this known in a statement in Enugu.
The CP while addressing the personnel, expressed appreciation to the IGP for initiating the nationwide training and retraining of police officers, recognizing its importance in addressing contemporary security challenges.

He also commended Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for his unwavering support and substantial contributions, which made the training possible, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to eradicating crime and fostering security in the State.
Uzuegbu urged the personnel to remain focused and make the most of the training, which would cover critical areas such as arms handling, combat, and tactical maneuvers; the use of modern security equipment; effective communication; and professional policing skills.
He emphasized the importance of the training in equipping them to confront modern policing challenges effectively.
