In a touching ceremony held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area, Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, was honoured with a special Award of Appreciation in recognition of her unwavering support and significant contributions to the development of the church and surrounding communities.

The event, which brought together parishioners, community leaders, and political stakeholders, followed closely on the heels of Senator Ekwunife’s latest humanitarian project, the delivery of a fully equipped 20-bed healthcare centre and a 30KVA generator to St. John’s Catholic Church, Neni. The facility is aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services in the area and stands as a testament to her enduring commitment to impactful representation and people-focused development.

In her remarks, Senator Ekwunife, who is also the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2025 Anambra election, thanked the church for the honour and said she sees the award as a clear indication that the work she is doing is having a real impact. She added that her political ambition is rooted not in rhetoric, but in action that brings real value to communities, pledging to remain committed to improving lives across all divides.

Following the church ceremony, Senator Ekwunife paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Neni, His Royal Highness Igwe Damian O. Ezeani (Igwe Ezeani Ugonabo), in her capacity as a cabinet member of the traditional council. During the visit, she officially informed the monarch of her emergence as the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate for the November 8th gubernatorial election and respectfully requested his royal support and prayers.

The monarch, in his response, offered his blessings and praised Senator Ekwunife for the lasting impact of her work in the community. He noted that her legacy of service will not be forgotten and expressed confidence that her efforts will continue to produce meaningful results.

Senator Ekwunife’s latest interventions add to her already extensive portfolio of grassroots development projects across Anaocha and beyond. Her dedication had previously earned her the traditional title of Akaekpuchionwa Neni, further solidifying her reputation as a leader deeply rooted in community service.

As the 2025 elections approach, her record of impactful projects and commitment to transforming lives continues to resonate across Anambra State, reinforcing her position as a symbol of purposeful and compassionate leadership.
