In a strong, unapologetic response to swirling rumours of a political alliance, the Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has shut down speculations of any pact with rival parties, reaffirming its independent and grassroots-driven political path.
The party, led by its vibrant State Chairman, Hon. Chukwudi Nwankwo, issued a bold press statement on Monday in Abakaliki, firmly debunking the trending reports that APGA is aligning with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), or African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the next general elections.
“Let it be clear that APGA is not in any alliance talks with any political party. We are focused on building a strong, independent, people-centred movement in Ebonyi State,” Hon. Nwankwo declared.
In a press release jointly endorsed by the Party’s Media Director, Comrade Chris Emmanuel, APGA described the news as a “fabricated distraction” orchestrated by desperate opposition elements threatened by the growing influence of APGA across the state.
The statement took direct aim at a recent publication falsely claiming that “Ebonyi PDP, LP, APGA, Others supporting ADC.” APGA dismissed the article as misleading propaganda targeted at causing confusion among party supporters and the voting public.
“This is a failed attempt to destabilize our ranks. We know where this is coming from. It’s the work of envious political players watching APGA gain ground every day across local wards in Ebonyi,” said Nwankwo.
According to Hon. Nwankwo, APGA’s strength lies in its firm ideological foundations and unwavering commitment to the grassroots. He emphasized that the party is neither interested in mergers nor alliances, as its principles are incompatible with transactional politics.
“We are not just another political group looking for shortcuts to power. APGA stands on the strength of vision, integrity, and service to the people,” he affirmed.
The party, he added, is presently focused on a statewide revalidation of membership, as directed by the National Working Committee (NWC), and an aggressive grassroots membership drive aimed at expanding its base ahead of the elections.
Far from being shaken by the rumours, APGA is doubling down on its mission to become the dominant political force in Ebonyi. The party’s increasing popularity, especially in rural communities, has sparked unease among competitors.
“What we are building is not a temporary coalition. It’s a movement. APGA is now the political home of real change-makers in Ebonyi State,” Nwankwo said confidently.
He urged party faithful and supporters to ignore misleading reports and stay focused on strengthening the party’s presence at the community level, where the real political battles are won.
In a bold closing, Hon. Nwankwo sent a clear message to opposition peddlers and political rumor-mongers:
“We won’t be distracted. APGA is marching forward with purpose and with the people. We are not for sale, not for merger, and not afraid.”
