It was John C. Maxwell who asserted “True leadership is not about titles or positions, but about influence, impact, and inspiration,” Those words of wisdom greatly explores the transformative leadership style of Rt. Hon. Dr. Caleb Ani’s administration in Enugu South Local Government.
Since assuming office, Hon. Ani has redefined leadership through projects that cut across infrastructure, education, health, and youth empowerment.
Roads such as the Onu-Orie Achara Layout link road, Amechi Uno–Amodu Obuoffia road, and others have opened up communities, while bursaries and the full payment of WAEC and JAMB fees for 300 students have given young people a brighter chance at success.
Security has been strengthened with gadgets, motorbikes, and trained personnel across nine communities. Healthcare has reached over 1,000 residents, alongside donations of wheelchairs and walking aids. Sports development also gained momentum with the Enugu South Unity Cup, organized in partnership with Rangers International FC.
Energy and empowerment were not left out. A 500 KVA transformer was donated to Akwuke and Amechi Uno, solar streetlights were installed in all nine communities, and over 500 youths benefited from skill acquisition programmes. Farmers also received tools and seedlings to boost food production.
Environmental renewal and governance reforms capped the year, including sanitation drives, evacuation of refuse dumps, and the refurbishment of the legislative council chamber ; now a symbol of strengthened democracy.
As he begins his second year, Rt. Hon. Caleb Ani stands out for advancing sustainable development and turning promises into realistic action for the people of Enugu South.
