Church of Resurrection Power, New Haven, Enugu Diocese, Anglican Communion, Sunday, concluded activities marking its 25th anniversary with a thanksgiving service and dedication of a magnificent office complex.
In his sermon, the Bishop of the Diocese, Professor Samuel Ike, thanked God for his grace upon the church, describing it as a covenant family.

He paid glowing tributes to the Emeritus Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, for the role he played in the establishment of the church in 2000.
The Bishop also congratulated the Parish for being an Archdeaconry that has hosted several vicars including Venerables Davidson Udodi, Arinze Egemba, Kenneth Ugwuagu, and currently, George Obiekezie.
The Church was set up on Easter Sunday, 23rd April, 2000 by the then Bishop, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, and Venerable Emma Uzuegbunam, as the first Vicar of the Parish.
The anniversary was to thank God and celebrate the parish for being in existence for 25years.

Speaking during the service which was used to honour eighty-four foundational members of the church and 17 post humous awards, the emeritus Bishop, Most Reverend Chukwuma thanked God who inspired him to build the church around the New Heaven axis.
He also said that he wondered why for over twenty nine years of existence of the diocese, there was no Anglican Church in a strategic place as New Haven and thanked God for members of the Church who ensured the growth of the Church with various developmental projects.
The Venerable Emma Uzuegbunam, who was the first vicar of the Parish, said that with God all things were possible for the Church of the Resurrection Power to exist stressing that he could only give thanks to God for his grace throughout the existence of the church and throughout his stay as the Vicar.
The Present Vicar of the Parish, Venerable George Obiekezie in an address, emphasized that God in his infinite mercy made the celebration of the 25th anniversary a successful one and also gave thanks to the Emeritus Bishop and the 1st vicar of the parish for bringing the parish into existence.
During the celebration, the new Parish Office complex and charity store were unveiled and blessed by the Bishop of the Diocese, Professor Samuel Ike.

The Chairman of the Anniversary planning Committee, Comrade Samson Ugwuoke, who read the first lesson at the service, in an interview, thanked those who participated since the preparation of the 25th anniversary which commenced last Tuesday.
He noted that there was seminar by the pioneer Vicar and friendly football match with the parent church, St.Barthelomews Asata, Enugu on Saturday where Church of Resurrection Power, New Haven emerged victorious by defeating them with three goals to two.
Many soul enriching activities formed the highlights of the celebration including presentations of awards to deserving members of the society.
One of the awardees, Engr Obinna Okudo, thanked God for the inspiration to handle the church office complex project in a space of four months.
Other awardees include, Engr Goddy Uzoho, Mr Chukwunyere Okolo, Ambassador Mabel Amuta and Sir C.O.J Onyemelukwe.
