Chemist In Kano Remanded For R@ping 9-Yr-Old Girl To Death

A Kano Magistrate Court in Sabon Gari has ordered the remand of a chemist, Manniru Ibrahim Fanisa, who is accused of raping a nine-year-old girl, Rumaisa Sadiq, leading to her death.

The incident occurred when the girl was brought to him for malaria treatment. The State Counsel, Barrister Zainab Aliko, confirmed that the girl died as a result of the rape.

Fanisa pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and homicide, which violate sections 283 and 221 of the Penal Code.

The presiding judge, Hajara Safiyyu Garba, has adjourned the case to September 30, 2024, and ordered Fanisa to be held in a correctional center.
