Nri, Anambra State – October 22, 2025:
As the November 8 Anambra State Governorship Election approaches, political activities continue to intensify across the state. In Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area, a former town leader, Oba Kelvin Obiegbunam, hosted members of the community in a show of solidarity and support for Senator (Iyom) Uche Ekwunife, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The gathering, held at Oba Obiegbunam’s residence, drew a large crowd of residents who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Senator Ekwunife, whom they proudly described as “their own special wife.” The atmosphere was filled with excitement as attendees declared their readiness to work for the victory of the APC in the forthcoming election.

Speaking during the event, Oba Obiegbunam, who is the immediate past President General of the Nri community, praised Senator Ekwunife for her long-standing contributions to the development of Nri and the entire Anaocha Local Government. He urged community members to translate their goodwill into active support at the polls.

“Senator Ekwunife has always been a friend of our people. Her projects and interventions have touched many lives here in Nri and beyond. It is time for us to stand by her and ensure that the APC emerges victorious come November 8,” he said.

Oba Obiegbunam further called on indigenes of Nri to extend their campaign efforts beyond the community, describing the APC deputy governorship candidate as a compassionate leader who has consistently demonstrated commitment to public service.

“We know Nri is strongly APC. Let us carry this message to others—Ekwunife’s candidacy is our collective project. With her and Hon. Nicholas Ukachukwu as the APC team, we believe Anambra will witness renewed growth and development,” he added.
