Agriculture: Govt Begins Clearing of Notorious Forest In Enugu

The Chairman, Nkanu East Local Government Area, Okechukwu Sydney Edeh, has commenced clearing of Agu Udene forest in Akpawfu, a notorious camp of the so-called unknown gunmen and kidnap gangs in the state.

The forest is being cleared to be used for large-scale commercial farming by the council following the directive of the Governor, Dr Peter Mbah.

The move is inline with the administration’s policy to activate and convert dormant assets and natural resources in rural communities to agricultural fields and agro-allied processing zones.
