2025 Anambra Guber: Obi Onyekaba Declares Support For YPP’s Chukwuma

The Obi Nnewichi, Nnewi, His Highness, Obi George Onyekaba haa declared his support for the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the November 8 governorship election in Anambra.

Obi Onyekaba declared his support for Chukwuma at the party’s campaign rally held at the DCC, Nnewi on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

During the rally which recorded a huge turnout, the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo LGAs demostrated an infectious and a warmth reception of the Paul Chukwuma/Uzu Okagbue ticket.

Addressing the crowd, Chukwuma appreciated the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo LGAs for their faith in him, saying that their turn out was a demonstration that the Federal constituency remains a formidable YPP base.

“We appreciate the support of the enterprising people of Nnewi. Our outing showed convincingly that Nnewi remains a formidable YPP base”, Chukwuma said.

He promised to prioritise security in order to ensure that commerce and industry thrive in the industrial area of the state.

He said, “To strengthen the behive of commercial activities in Nnewi, we shall prioritize security. Our government shall restore security in three months”.

The YPP candidate also promised to address the road infrastructural gap in Nnewi, describing the state of roads in the city as “deplorable and very unfortunate”.

Chukwuma stated that he has a well thought out plan to revive withering
commerce, industry, and innovation in the industrial city.

According to him, the plan involves a policy framework for sustainability of the apprenticeship system, with venture capital of N200 billion, solely for the business community.

“This framework shall also accommodate our youths without higher education and shall include a venture capital of N200 billion, solely for our business community. This is to ensure that we take back our withering advantage in commerce, industry, and innovation”, he said.

The YPP has been on campaign tour of the local government areas of the state with the message of hope, better governance and joy
