The Christian community in the South East will converge on Enugu, Saturday, September 20, 2025, to witness the formal installation of Territorial Envoy Dr. Levi Monanu, as Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), South East Zone.
The ceremony, described as both solemn and celebratory, will mark a new chapter in the history of the Council.
The ceremony will take place at Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, Independence Layout Enugu, with the National President of CCN, His Grace, Most Rev. David O.C. Onuoha, officiating.
The installation service will commence at 11:00 o’clock in the morning.
For Dr. Monanu, widely regarded as a man of service and humility, the occasion represents far more than a ceremonial milestone. Friends and associates describe him as an exceptional leader who bears the burdens of others with patience and whose heart is anchored in love, unity, and service. His elevation, they noted, is both recognition of his steadfast journey and a renewed call to higher responsibility.
The event, themed “Grand Installation of the Chairman, Territorial Envoy Dr. Levi Monanu and His Executive,” will be hosted by the Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Prof. Sam Ike, and chaired by Chief Bart Nwibe (Ugo Igbo-Ukwu), MD Segofs Energy Group.
The installation will attract prominent church leaders, government officials, and the faithful from across denominations. Expected dignitaries include the Executive Governors of the South Eastern states, alongside respected spiritual fathers such as:
Commissioner Friday Sam Ayanam, Territorial Commander, The Salvation Army Nigeria Territory.
His Grace, Most Rev. Engr. Sosthenes Eze, Archbishop, Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
His Grace, Most Rev. Barr. Christopher N. Ede, Archbishop, Archdiocese of Enugu (Methodist Church of Nigeria).
His Grace, Most Rev. Prof. Ezichi A. Ituma, Archbishop and Moderator, Enugu Synod (The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria).
Most Rev. John Maduka, Head of the African Gospel Mission Church and Member of NEC.
Planning for the grand occasion has been meticulously coordinated by Rev. Dr. Stephen Nlemchukwu, Secretary of CCN South East Zone, working closely with Most Rev. Ibeawuchi Agwu and Very Rev. Barr. Humphrey Ofoegbu, who lead the organizing committee.
As preparations reach their peak, the atmosphere across the region is filled with anticipation. For many, the installation will not merely mark a leadership transition but stand as a celebration of true Christian leadership, unity of faith, and a renewed vision for the Christian Council of Nigeria in the South East.
