Tension is boiling over in Nkpor, in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, as allegations mount against a shadowy network said to be choking the town’s peace, prosperity, and progress.

At the center of the storm is one Emmanuel Idemili, also known as Emma Guilder, accused by concerned residents of running a deeply sophisticated system of intimidation, extortion, and control.

It is believed that he is allegedly backed by members of the Uzoegwu family including one Uchenna Anyadiegwu, infamously known as Loko and an associate named Afunwa, this group is believed to be operating like a cartel, hijacking both the governance and revenue structures of the community.

Our investigation reveals a disturbing pattern: young people who have dared to question the status quo are being arrested and imprisoned.

Other sources claim the local power bloc has evolved into an underground syndicate targeting dissenters, seizing control of local markets, and exploiting the community’s economic veins for personal gain.

“This is no longer governance, it’s captivity,” one trader told us anonymously.

“The boys working for Emma Idemili terrorize us daily. We pay fees no one else in Anambra pays. If you resist, you disappear.”

Commuters and residents alike report widespread harassment and aggressive toll collection tactics that, according to them, are “unprecedented anywhere else in the state.”

Residents are calling on Anambra State Governor, security agencies, and anti-corruption watchdogs to urgently intervene. The group allegedly operates under the guise of “Loko & Partners,” and is believed to be executing criminal assignments for top bidders across the region.

Many say the silence of state institutions is enabling the chaos. The people are asking: how long will the suffering of Nkpor remain ignored?

Efforts to get responses from the individuals named were unsuccessful. While Emma Idemili initially promised to respond, he later failed to return our calls.
