Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his bold vow to serve only one term of four years if elected, calling the pledge “sacrosanct” and a reflection of his deep commitment to leadership by example.
“Forty-eight months is enough for any focused leader to make a meaningful difference. I will not stay a day longer,” Obi asserted.
Referencing leaders like Abraham Lincoln and Nelson Mandela, Obi argued that greatness in leadership is measured by impact, not tenure. “Mandela could have ruled for life, but he chose service over power. I’m following the same path,” he said.
Obi also responded to critics who mock or doubt his promise, saying their disbelief reflects the decay in political trust not based on his track record.
“My word is my bond. I kept every promise I made as Governor of Anambra. I never swore by a shrine, and I’ve never needed psychiatric evaluation to stand by my integrity,” he stated with calm resolve.
What He Plans To Do in Just 4 Years includes;
Clean up Nigeria’s broken governance system
Fight insecurity with accountability
Prioritise education, healthcare & poverty reduction
Empower small businesses and local industries
Fight corruption with unwavering commitment
Rebuild Nigeria’s economy through production—not consumption
Obi ended with a promise that continues to stir hope in millions of Nigerians: “A new Nigeria is POssible!”
