The chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, Dr. Eric Odo, has reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development in the council area.

This is as he highlighted some of his administration’s programme, including payment of monthly stipends to 1,000 widows, construction of rural roads, and ongoing electrification work in Ohebe-Dim and Ozalla communities

Speaking on Monday at the council headquarters in Ogbede, Odo said his government is driven by a personal vow made to Igbo-Etiti people, saying he would prioritise the welfare of the youths, widows, and persons with disabilities.

“I promised our people during the campaign that I would work with youths, widows, and people with disabilities.

“It would be a great joy for me to see that they smile throughout my administration,” the council boss said.

While rejecting the status quo of traditional governance approaches, he emphasised a new era of accessibility and responsiveness in public office.

According to him, he will not only be accessible to the people who visit his office but would also address their needs.

“I will adopt a zero-protocol approach, serving my people through practical and tangible evidence.

“In fact, I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our local government area is developed and prosperous.

“I am fulfilled in my promise to God and the people of Igbo-Etiti, and I will continue to serve them with dedication and commitment,” Odo hinted.

He expressed deep appreciation to Governor Peter Mbah for the opportunity to serve and pledged his loyalty to the governor’s visionary leadership.
