The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Nkanu East Local Government Area, LGA, has passed a vote of commendation on the Governor Peter Mbah Administration after two years in the saddle.

Noting Governor Mbah’s fullspeed transformation efforts in just two years, Nkanu East PDP said his record remained unprecedented anywhere in Nigeria in the current democratic dispensation.

This was even as the Member representing Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, donated 28 motorbikes to PDP Youth Leaders in the 14 wards of Nkanu East LGA and 14 wards of Nkanu West LGA for enlightenment advocacy on Governor Mbah’s leadership and continued mobilisation of support for his Administration.

Nkanu East PDP passed the vote of commendation during the party’s monthly meeting at the Council headquarters, Amagunze, on Saturday.

In their different remarks, Hon. Nnaji; Member representing Nkanu East State Constituency, Hon. Okey Mbah; PDP Zonal Chairman for Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Chief Nnamdi Nwafor; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Media Relations), Uche Anichukwu; PDP Chairman, Nkanu East, Hon. Cornelius Edeh; and the Local Government Woman Leader, Mrs. Chinwe Mbah, highlighted Governor Mbah’s many development strides and commended him for the frugal utilisation of state resources.

“We have considered that each of the 260 wards in Enugu State has at least one Smart Green School and one Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centre ongoing or completed and an ultramodern Farm Estate ongoing or about to take off. We have considered the road projects ongoing in every nook and cranny of the state. We have considered the investment in security infrastructure that has improved security in Enugu State.

“To put things in perspective, Enugu State was among the very few states given a clean bill of health in the latest UK Government Travel Advisory guiding their citizens on where to travel to and states they should avoid, given the security risks. This is a foreign government. So, it has nothing to do with politics.

“We have further considered that our moribund state assets, such as Nigergas, International Conference Centre, Enugu United Palm Products Limited, Hotel Presidential, have all come back to life.

“So, it is only proper that we have passed this vote of commendation, which will shall also convey to the governor to reassure him of our appreciation of his effort and more importantly our unalloyed support,” Hon. Okey Mbah stated.

While distributing 14 motorcycles to the party Youth Leaders in the LGA, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, who also had earlier distributed tricycles to all the 28 PDP ward chairmen in Nkanu East and Nkanu West, restated his commitment to empowering party leaders at local level to educate the rural communities on the various development projects and the need to own and protect them.

He also commended the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Okechukwu Edeh, for emulating Governor Mbah’s development strides and work rate through infrastructural transformations, notably, the completion of the ultramodern Ojorowo Bridge and infrastructural facelift of the Council headquarters.

Meanwhile, in his remark, the leader of the Enugu State PDP monitoring team to the monthly meeting, Hon. Tobias Odinwankpa, commended the people of Nkanu East for attending the meeting en masse, and also urged the party faithful and leaders at the local level not to relent in their mobillisation and enlightenment drive.
