CAN Visits Enugu South Council Boss, Pledges Support

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Enugu South LGA, Friday, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Caleb Ani, at his office in Uwani.

The Chairman of CAN, Enugu South LGA, Senior Apostle Innocent Nwankwor, who led the delegation said the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the association to the council chairman and offer their support to his administration.

He expressed the commitment of the body to partner the local government, while pledging their support to the Chairman, both spiritually and practically.

The association assured the Chairman of their readiness to assist in anywhere required, emphasizing their dedication to enhancing governance and community welfare in Enugu South.

CAN also reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, and progress in the region.

Other members of the delegation, include: Evangelist Chukwunonso, Vice Chairman; Evangelist Ejike Okoye, Secretary; Rev. David Nnaji, Treasurer; Mrs. Mary Shah, Woman Leader.

Also, Bro. Okwudili Eze, representing the Assistant Secretary. Representing all five constituent blocks of CAN—namely, the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria/Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN/CPFN), Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), and Evangelical Church Winning All/The Evangelical Church of Nigeria (ECWA/TEKAN)

In his response, Enugu South LGA Chairman, Hon. Caleb Ani, expressed gratitude to the CAN leadership for the visit and promised to engage the association’s assistance whenever necessary.

He noted that the visit underscored CAN’s active role in fostering collaboration between religious institutions and local governance, ensuring an inclusive approach to leadership in Enugu South LGA.

Highlight of the visit was a special prayer session led by CAN, to seek divine wisdom and guidance for Hon. Ani in steering the affairs of Enugu South LGA.
