- Friday, July 19th put on a gloomy face; it was as if Mother Nature herself knew this was a very sad day. With family, friends, colleagues, sympathizers and wellwishers trooping in in their hundreds, one would have been made to believe a person of utmost prominence was being laid to rest, and perhaps so it was.
The remains of late DELSU 300Level student, Elozino Ogege whose story tore a gash in the hearts of the many who heard it, was today put into the bosom of mother Earth amidst hundreds if not thousands of loved ones.
Friends and wellwishers of the Ogege Family and of Zino herself came out in their numbers to pay their last respect to the young, beautiful and innocent girl whose painful end many are still to come to terms with.
Dressed in white attires the tears flowed freely for the many who gathered as the last rites of passage were said for the late Zino.
Students of Delta State University, Abraka were well represented in the service as their ever noticeable presence was felt in the crowds of hundreds. Also, representatives of the Delta state government and other agencies were in attendance, and not left out was the entirety of the indigenous Isoko community who filled the arena, as they laid to rest their slain daughter.
Eternal Rest Grant unto her O Lord; And Let Perpetual light Shine Upon her. May the gentle soul of Elozino Ogege Rest in Peace; Amen.
